How does the TEL3 App work?

All calls made with the TEL3 app will be connected via TEL3’s platform so you can save.

Here’s how it works:

  • Step 1: Choose to dial a number from the keypad, contacts, or speed dial
  • Step 2: Click on Green button
  • Step 3: Listen to the prompt while we connect your call by our platform

Important Notes

  • Please make sure you have registered your iPhone number with TEL3. Learn more on how to register your phone here.
  • Please make sure you dial all your international calls (except for Canada) starting with "011" or "+" followed by the country code (e.g. 011 (44) 305 556 7879) before making a call. The iPhone currently uses a rather slow dialing mechanism after the initial connection and this might cause problems in a few of your calls. This is a general issue with the iPhone’s dialing application and might be fixed in a future update. During the call and afterwards in the "Recent Calls" list the iPhone application will show the TEL3 access number used (800# or local access number) followed by the contact's number instead of the contact’s name.

How to setup TEL3 to make calls?

You will need to do the setup only once.

  • Step 1: Open TEL3 and touch "Settings"
  • Step 2: Enter your account number. Your account number is usually your phone number.
  • Step 3: Enter your PIN. If you don't know your PIN, please contact customer service at 1-800-482-4459

Your account number is a 10 digit number (usually your phone number). If you forgot your pin, you can reset your pin by contacting our customer service at 1-800-482-4459.

How do I sync my speed dial numbers with the TEL3 app for iPhone?

  • Step 1: Touch the speed dial icon on the bottom bar
  • Step 2: Touch the "sync" icon

Why does the TEL3 app not work properly although I downloaded it from the App Store?

  1. Make sure you have registered your iPhone number with your TEL3 Account. You can do that easily by adding your iPhone’s number as an Instant Access number on your online account manager. If you don’t already have a TEL3 account, don’t worry; signing up is easy, instant and actually rewarding!
  2. Please make sure the international number you dial starts with a "+" or "011" followed by the destination number.

What is TEL3?

TEL3 is an application designed for iPhone and Android phones. It allows our users to dial their destination numbers directly from their smart cell phones without having to dial an access number.

How do I download the TEL3 app to my iPhone?

You can download the TEL3 iPhone app from the App Store on your iPhone or iTunes.

Does the rate change when making calls with the TEL3 app?

With the TEL3 app, you don’t pay any extra 1¢ add-on fees even if the dialer calls via a toll free number. You can enjoy the same competitive rates when making calls with TEL3!

What if I place a regular domestic call with the TEL3 app, will I be charged by TEL3?

Yes, any calls made with the TEL3 app will go through the TEL3 system and you will be charged accordingly.

Can I place a call with TEL3 when I’m in Canada?

YES. You can place a call with the TEL3 app when you are in Canada. However, TEL3 is not responsible for any roaming charges applied by your cell phone carrier.

How can I register my iPhone’s number with TEL3?

You can easily register your iPhone’s number by adding it as an Instant Access number under the ACCOUNT SETTINGS Section in your Online Account Manager.

Why can’t I redial a number automatically from the TEL3 app for iPhone?

Because the TEL3 app dials the number for you and once the call is complete the iPhone dialer will close the application. All apps for iPhone work in the same way and until this feature is changed by Apple, dialing numbers with a "#" or "*" will be rejected for security reasons.

How do you know if the call goes through with TEL3?

Once you place the call with TEL3 you will hear the TEL3 welcome prompt ("Thank you for using TEL3"). This prompt is a signal to you that the call is now completing through the TEL3 service.

How do you change the access number in case of an issue?

  • Open the TEL3 app and go to the settings page
  • Touch the "Type" option
  • Select "Primary" or "Backup Access numbers"

Why do I get an invalid number message when I try to place a call?

This is an issue that only some customers were experiencing in the past. The best way to make sure you do not get this message is to download the latest version of the TEL3 on your iPhone or from iTunes.
